Ballarat Hot Water & Plumbing supplies and professionally installs Panasonic CO₂ Split System Heat Pumps throughout Ballarat and surrounding areas.

What Makes the New Panasonic CO₂ Heat Pump Different?

Reclaim Energy offers several CO₂ heat pump hot water systems, so it's easy to become confused about the differences.

The new Panasonic CO₂ Split System is the Panasonic-engineered option in Reclaim Energy's current hot water range.

It combines:

  • Panasonic Japanese engineering
  • Natural CO₂ refrigerant
  • 4.0kW and 6.0kW models
  • Australian-made hot water storage tanks
  • Panasonic Comfort Cloud Wi-Fi control
  • Energy monitoring
  • Remote scheduling
  • Quiet operation
  • Split-system installation flexibility
  • Operation designed for Australian climate conditions
  • 10-year parts and labour warranty*.

For homeowners who want a premium heat pump from one of the world's best-known heating and cooling manufacturers, the Panasonic CO₂ system is an extremely compelling option

Designed for Ballarat's Climate

Not all Australian climates are the same.

Ballarat winters can be considerably colder than those experienced in many coastal and northern Australian cities, making cold-weather heat pump performance particularly important.

The Panasonic CO₂ heat pump has been designed to operate across a wide range of Australian climatic conditions.

That makes it a particularly attractive option for homes throughout Ballarat and the surrounding Central Highlands region, where winter performance matters.

Two Heat Pump Sizes: 4.0kW and 6.0kW

The Panasonic CO₂ range is available with two heat pump capacities:

4.0kW Panasonic CO₂ Heat Pump

An efficient solution suited to many typical Australian households.

6.0kW Panasonic CO₂ Heat Pump

Higher heating capacity for larger households, greater hot water demand or situations where faster hot water recovery is desirable.

Correct sizing depends on the number of people in your household, when you use hot water, the size of the storage tank and your individual property.

Ballarat Hot Water & Plumbing can recommend the appropriate configuration for your home.

Smart Wi-Fi Control Comes Standard

One of the biggest improvements with the new Panasonic system is smart control through the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App.

This allows you to control and monitor your hot water system remotely.

You can:

  • Set operating schedules
  • Choose when your water is heated
  • Monitor energy consumption
  • Adjust settings remotely
  • Use Holiday Mode while you're away
  • Schedule heating around electricity tariffs
  • Better coordinate water heating with rooftop solar generation
  • You don't need to constantly adjust the system.

Once an appropriate schedule has been established, the heat pump can simply operate around the way your household uses energy.

An Excellent Match for Rooftop Solar

If you already have solar panels, a heat pump hot water system can provide another way to use the electricity your home generates during the day.

Instead of heating most of your water overnight using electricity purchased from the grid, the Panasonic system can be scheduled to operate during periods when your solar system is generating electricity.

You're effectively storing some of your solar energy as hot water.

For households receiving relatively little for electricity exported to the grid, using more of that electricity within the home can make considerably more sense.

Panasonic Comfort Cloud Energy Monitoring

The Panasonic Comfort Cloud App also allows you to monitor the system's energy consumption.

That gives you a much clearer picture of when your hot water system is operating and how much energy it's using.

You can then adjust operating schedules to better suit:

  • Your household routine
  • Solar generation
  • Electricity tariffs
  • Seasonal changes
  • Periods when you're away from home

It's a significant step forward from a conventional hot water system that simply switches itself on whenever the thermostat tells it to.

Australian-Made Hot Water Tanks

The Panasonic heat pump can be combined with Australian-made Reclaim Energy storage tanks in several capacities.

250L Tank
A compact option suitable for smaller and average-sized households.

315L Tank
Additional hot water storage for larger households or homes with greater daily hot water requirements.

400L Tank
Designed for large households and properties with substantial hot water demand.

Available tank options include stainless steel and glass-lined construction.

Choosing the right tank capacity is particularly important with a heat pump system because it allows you to heat and store water efficiently rather than continually reheating small quantities throughout the day.

Quiet Operation

Heat pumps contain a compressor and fan, so they aren't completely silent.

However, the Panasonic CO₂ system has been specifically designed for quiet residential operation.

Correct positioning is still important.

When we assess your property, we'll consider the location of bedrooms, neighbouring properties, outdoor living areas and the hot water tank before determining the most appropriate position for the heat pump.

Flexible Split-System Design

The Panasonic is a split heat pump system. The heat pump and hot water storage tank are separate components rather than being combined into one large unit. This gives us considerably more flexibility when installing the system.

The tank can be positioned where it makes sense for your plumbing while the heat pump can be located where it has appropriate airflow, access and clearance.

That can be particularly useful when replacing an existing hot water system where space is limited.
